just bookin it.

Liza got me thinking about some of the fictional books I read as a kid that have just STUCK. Like the ones that have been passed on to the next 2nd grader for enjoyable consumption, and are a fast favorite. Here are some of those sorts of series:

All of a Kind of a Family Series

The Orphelines Series

The Moffats Collection

The Betsy-Tacy Series

What series did you enjoy as a little kid?

  1. We enjoyed the Boxcar children (the quality declines majorly the more they go on), and the American girl series. In my teens Mom started reading us the Moffats, and she now reads the Penderwicks to the "little" girls. I remember reading or skipping through the Bobbsy Twins, and the little girls read Nancy Drew and the Hardy boys. Mom read Trixie Belden (is that it?) when she was little but I only looked through one of those. Other than Narnia I cannot think of anything else for me, but my little sisters read the Royal Diaries and Dear Diaries. I want to look into the books you've mentioned (I literally have lists of what I want my future kids to read at what ages).
