This is pretty much all you're going to hear from us for the next week because Rachel and I (along with two sisters and many friends) will be going to the Daughters of Destiny camp in the mountains of NC!!!! I'm so excited and tomorrow morning we'll be well on our way to an awesome week. xD We'd appreciate prayer for the week and for all the leaders. :)

It's oh so smashing!

As I told you all while ago, one of my new hobbies has becoming Smashing. :) I've found that it's really fun, relaxing, and uses my creative energy in a productive way.  Here's their summary of what a Smash book is to be for:

Cousinauntoruncle?

I've been thinking a lot about the crazy relationships that can pop up from marriage between families. I mean, what would you call your sister-in-law's brother? Or her parents? And if there were two families and Abby married one of the sons and then Levi married one of the older children's children than his brother-in-law would also be his uncle! And what are your cousin's children to you? Second cousins or first cousins once removed? I mean--it's nuts. Especially when you start dealing with large families that can span a generation or two at least. :D This video is hilarious and pretty much sums up the whole, confusing cousin-deal. :P

The Wearin' O' the Green...plus a goat for good measure.

We have evil geniuses for pets. Other people call them goats, but I don't. They are so clever in a dastardly way that they made horrendous noises all last night so that when I finally woke up by my alarm this morning I looked out and got a turn because one of them was laying flat on her side and totally not moving. At least two of our does are pregnant and about to kid, so I was kind of worried about her. I went outside and she didn't even move till I was about 15 feet away. They were fine. But they'd managed to get me outside at 7:30 in the morning. So I sat down on the front porch and returned a phone-call to a friend. :D I was glad she hadn't wanted to sleep in this weekend, otherwise it might have been a bit early for her. Oh well. :D

I have so many things I ought to be doing instead of blogging.

Finishing Les Miserables for one...

...making breakfast for another...

...beginning to write back to three friends for a third...

...girding myself up for Saturday church-cleaning...

...memorizing the next chunk of Psalm 33...

...Yeah. I'd better get going! :D....

...this is random, but I really want to see War Horse! I also really want one of the chocolate chess-bars I made for choir on Tuesday...I also want biscuits for breakfast after writing a blog post about them. :D Oh! To close out this post since it is Saint Patrick's Day, check out this phenomenal sign-language guy signing to "The Rocky Road to Dublin" by The High Kings! It's amazing!

"The Ballet of The Faun" You've got to see this! :P

Question: What do Rachel and Sarah do with a broken pinata, and a camera?
Answer: Well, you will soon see.
Now I have two disclaimers:
1. Daniel needs to come home. Our humor is becoming cheaper than ever. Not so witty. More....like this video! ;) I'm teasing- we are having good times, and we all thought this was pretty funny! :)
2. The singing- I, Rachel, am the star of this film. I did the dancing, and the singing too. You must understand that I was half-choking with laughter and I forgot the tune to some of the last song, so it sounds naturally...funny! So don't take this as a sample of my singing voice PLEASE! :D Sarah did the filming, so she has all the credit for the second half of the title. The stage, by-the-by,was Daisy's milking stand. The lovely green curtain was my blouse. :)

While my reasons for my patriotism are much deeper, this certainly is a part of it! Daniel and I believe that our bonny Stars and Stripes make up the most glorious flag of any country! And our fife and drums inspire me with a wonderful swelling of pride for my country that makes me want to sign up for the colonial army! ;) So far nothing can rival that for rousing my patriotism! But below is something that convinces me I have Scotch blood! (even if that is unproved! ;) This makes me want to get a sword and wear a plaid and go tramping through the heather speaking with a thick brogue! What do you think of it? -Rachel
