Updatery

To begin with, you should really look at The Warren.  It is my newest project! Inside the shop you will find many literary-themed objects to inspire and delight those who like to read or write, or simply love words in general! Check it out and spread the word - you won't regret it.

Many people who don't follow my writing blog have asked me recently how the whole publishing thingamajig is going. Right now I am focused on my writing, and intend to slam out some query letters. I HATE RED TAPE. Chancery Court and all that - ick. Gone are the days of local publishers you "Jo-March" up to and bang you're in print. Nope. Long process here - recently I was told five years for one novel is not uncommon. So if you were wondering...that's what's up! As far as what I'm currently writing:

The Baby:
a children's novel chronicling a baby whisked into a parallel world and its siblings' quest to retrieve it while keeping the sanity of a kingdom intact.

Driftfire:
a Cinderella-based novella for a contest hosted by author Anne Elisabeth Stengl

Troubador:
an allegorical-fantasy novel that is only in the very earliest stages of work and is only just now (as of right now) official. We shall see how it prospers.

Sarah and I are both ramping up to teaching again. I'm doing English Lit for Leah, a separate reading course for Anna, and a creative-writing lessons for Leah, Anna, and my cousin Emily. Sarah is teaching Grace and another cousin, Rebekah. I love the challenge of planning lessons and taking things I know in theory and making it understandable and attainable for someone else! Way harder than you'd think - thanks, Mama for doing it for us all these years!

Weddings and engagements are absolutely RAMPANT in our circles. Sheesh. That's the most imminent reason I opened The Warren! I have to have a way to afford to attend all these functions, and participate in them! :D

The WEATHER has been divine-divine. I woke up so blessed this morning when I saw it was still blue and gorgeous outside! Open-window weather is my cuppa tea.

These are all the things I can think of that we've been up to recently! Please don't forget to check out the shop, and leave comment here letting us know what *you've* been doing with the rest of your summer! :)
