He is risen!!!!!!!!

"Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it. His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men.

I was tagged by the Inkpen Authoress, so here I go. First of all, I'm supposed to tell ya'll 11 random facts about myself.

1. I'm really wanting to see War Horse and October Baby in theaters!
2. I have a selection of clothes from my wardrobe that are my favorites, and the others I don't really ever wear. :P
3. I have worn a watch 24/7 for probably close to 5 years! (which results in a very pronounced watch-tan....)
4. I'm pretty decent at Soduku puzzles.
5. I still haven't read Rachel's newest novel!
6. My dream vacation is a European tour, ending by dropping down to NZ. :)
7. I just started Pinteresting! :D (and am loving it!)
8. I'm making this cake right now...it's gonna be cute!
9. I still look forward to our family's Easter egg hunt.
10. I enjoy doing word-art.

5. Hammock or tree-house? Hm...depends on my mood. But I've always wanted to build an elaborate tree fort. (note the fort, not the house. There's a big difference. :D
6. Ideal summer day: Describe it. Alright. Breezy, sunny, about 75 degrees, low humidity, beautiful blue sky, shade trees... **sigh**
7. If you could look a certain way, what would it be? :P I prefer not to dwell on that thought...
8. Would you ever get a haircut above your shoulders? I think so...:)
9. Funniest person of your acquaintance: Either our Gentleman, or any of my relatives with Walker sense of humor, and Tim, Maddie, and Alaina. :)
10. Do you like chunks of stuff in your ice-cream? Yes. :) As long as they don't break my teeth, or hurt my jaw.
11.  Mint and Chocolate or Cherries and Chocolate? Most of the time, cherries and chocolate, but mint's not bad either. :)

How To Catch a Man...according to a Kid :)

I was weeding around my oregano plant in the garden the other day. Gracie (5) was helping me, offering to pull up every weed she saw, whether they were valuable plants or not. ;) As usual, she was full of quaint little observations, but I was entirely unprepared for what popped out of her mouth. The Question of a lifetime.

"Rachie, when are you goin' to get married?"

I smiled at her and continued pulling the weeds out of the herbs. "Whenever God brings the right guy along." I looked sideways at her. Her little baby-face was studiously turned toward the task at hand, the picture of innocence. "How do you think I ought to find a husband, Lumpy?" I asked, eager to see what wisdom might fall from her sweet rosebud mouth.
She tossed her head back, rolled her eyes in the manner that is peculiarly hers, and grinned so that she showed every dimple in her face. "I fink Mom should take you to The City." (Since she's grown up living in the countryside, going To Town is a big ordeal, and The City a thing to be discussed for ages to come.) "You should leave the van on the sidewalk and then get out and walk around. You'll just find a man and he'll come back to the van with you and Mom and kiss you on the lips." (Her idea of getting married. A kiss is a covenant-sealer :)

I sat there, hand suspended in the air with a clump of green weeds dangling from it. Grace still looked as she had before--a sweet, dimpled, plump little girl with a heck of a smile. But this time there was a tinge of mischief lurking in those dimples. I laughed, and she laughed with me. The laugh of a little imp who knew she'd made a triumph.

    ....if only it were that simple. ;) 

World Travellers at Last!

It has long been on Rachel's and my bucket lists to travel out of the country. Well, the plans have finally been ironed out and in two months and 3 days we'll be on our way to all of the places above pictured.!!!!!! It's a dream come true. Literally.
